Delhi Medical Council (DMC) President and Senior Pediatrician Dr. Arun Gupta says that it has to be seen how serious the new strain is and in the reports that have come out so far, cases are increasing but they are mild strains. That is, there are mild symptoms. There are symptoms like cold, cough, fever and patients are recovering easily in a few days. He says that the form of the virus keeps changing and when a new variant comes, the cases increase once but it has to be seen how serious the cases are.

Corona havoc in Delhi

A 71-year-old man has died in Delhi and he was corona positive. However, he was also suffering from pneumonia, “septic shock with AKI”. Experts say that it cannot be said right now that this person died of Covid only because he also had another serious illness. He has also been found to be Covid positive. Septic shock and acute kidney injury, this is a serious condition in which the infection causes swelling in the body, blood pressure drops and the kidneys are also affected, leading to a sudden decline in kidney function.

One death each in Karnataka, Kerala, UP

There has been one death each in Karnataka, Kerala, UP, the health department says that the detailed report is awaited in all these cases. Till May 25, there were 1010 active cases of Covid in the country. A senior official who has closely analyzed the Covid cases and the pattern of this disease in the country says that the Covid cases will start decreasing in the next 7 to 10 days, there is no panic situation. He says that examination of patients and testing of sewage water samples shows that the new variant is mild. There is no need for a booster dose right now. But if the elderly have breathing problems, cancer patients have any problem, then do not delay going to the hospital. Other people should take necessary precautions.

What are the symptoms?

According to the Ministry of Health, NB 1.8.1 and LF.7 – JN.1 Covid variants were found in the country. These variants are causing an increase in corona cases. Common symptoms include fever, runny nose, sore throat, headache, fatigue and tiredness. Although these variants may have the ability to evade immunity, there is currently no evidence to suggest that they can cause long-term severe infection.
